Purchasing City of Newark Property

In Newark, the Letter of Intent (LOI) is the first official step when seeking to purchase property from the City. Once a redeveloper submits an LOI, and it is deemed satisfactory, the City issues a Preliminary Designation Letter. This letter indicates that the City is serious about moving forward with the sale, provided the redeveloper completes the required next steps. At this stage, it is strongly recommended that redevelopers consult with the Zoning Office to confirm whether the property is appropriately zoned and suitable for their intended project.

For more details, please review the LOI PDFs available below. If you’d like to discuss your plans further, we encourage you to schedule a meeting with us through the Office Hours option on our site.
