Build NJ Training Program

The BuildNJ Program, launched by the Housing and Community Development Network of NJ (with support from the NJ Department of Community Affairs), provides comprehensive training and certification in quality affordable housing production. Designed especially for nonprofit community developers—with a focus on supporting BIPOC developers—the program emphasizes homeownership development as a pathway to closing New Jersey’s racial wealth gap.

Funded through the NJ Affordable Housing Trust Fund, BuildNJ is a multiyear initiative open to organizations, including those overcoming financial hardship or looking to grow their development programs. Led by Rhonda Coe of R.B. Coe Consulting LLC, participants receive hands-on training across every phase of development: planning, acquisition, financing, project management, business planning, marketing, community outreach, and preparing future homeowners through housing counseling.
